I have finally published my first knitting pattern: the Elf Boots socks! They are cosy colourwork socks with a leafy pattern and a pointed toe, a bit like something an elf would wear on a cold winter day.
The design is inspired by traditional Norwegian sock knitting, with my own twists on both the pattern and the technique. My grandmother was the one who encouraged me to share it, so here it is.
About the pattern
- One size, fits EU 38-41 (US 7.5-10, UK 5-7.5)
- About 200 g wool yarn in two colours (100 g of each), for a gauge of 20 stitches per 10 cm
- 3 mm and 3.5 mm double-pointed needles, or your favourite sock needles
- A heel I have reworked through several versions, and the testers loved it
- Optional twisted ribbing for the cuff
- Charts for the colourwork, heel and toe, plus written instructions if you prefer text
The pattern is a PDF you can download straight away. If you fancy knitting a pair, you can find it in my Etsy shop.
